RodsterSounds

Rodster is a nickname I’ve had for many years. It’s come to be an identifier for all things associated with my music

Multi-instrumentalist/singer

What instruments do I play?

Early as a child my parents dreamed I’d be an organist and I took lessons for many years. Unfortunately most of those early skills are gone, but my love for music remained.

I mostly play bass guitar and sing lead or backup in classic rock bands. I have been known to accompany myself with piano, play drums, misc percussion, and yes.. the infamous kazoo

In the last 4 years I’ve fallen in love with guitar and have started a solo career.

I have done a early morning 30min music/coffee show called RodsterJams on Twitch.

Just this last year I’ve kicked off an IRL adventure playing acoustic guitar and singing as a soloist at Assisted Living facilities. I’ve found this incredibly enjoyable

What type of Songs do I perform

I love every music style and era and have over 400- 500 songs in my songlist and continuously adding.

It’s not uncommon to hear me covering artist such as Billy Joel, Foo Fighters, Elvis, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Diamond, Johnny Cash, and a wild assortment from just about every genre, style and eras.

For Assisted Living facilities I specialize in songs from the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s. This is such a great era to enjoy and I’ve found residents are more than happy to sing along and engage with songs they know all the words to.

Do you do impersonations?

I have been known in the past to impersonate various artists. Specifically

  • Elvis
  • Neil Diamond
  • Tom Petty
  • David Grohl
  • Bruce Springsteen
  • Sir Elton John

Original Music Artist

I had never considered myself an active songwriter till I met the amazing Windy_Harper from Twitch. In her community she provokes us all with a monthly songwriting challenge. in the years 2023 I was told I wrote and recorded over 30 songs.

Granted none of these are masterpieces. I tend to write and record these in one setting, on one channel and play/record it live. Messing around with DAWS or other multi-tracking is just too much for my mind.

All of these were done using a single line looper pulled from a 16 channel mixer ran into Audacity.

So if you’re curious what comes from the mind of an old guy new to songwriting
